Founding Story

OverStress is an organization started by Bay Area teens whose aim is to start and integrate sincere mental health conversations into mainstream society for young people through advocacy, education, and peer-to-peer resources. This mission is especially relevant in today’s digital age as Gen Z is forced to navigate mental health issues relating to the internet and other online spaces. We aim to fight issues such as online bullying, low self-esteem, and social media addiction. Through our efforts, we hope to cultivate a happier and more fulfilled Gen Z, with decreased stress and enhanced productivity flow.
